Bogie Wood is a former football coach, athletic administrator, and sports broadcaster. He is the host of GameDaySportsRadio’s weekly broadcast and co-host of GameDaySportsRadio’s “Vegas Viewpoint” with OTM Sports’ chief handicapper, Mike Bernard.
Wood graduated from Vincent (AL) High School in 1979 and played football on the collegiate level at Jacksonville State University before a chronic shoulder injury ended his playing career. He continued to be a part of the football program as a student manager and student coach.
Over the course of his coaching career, Wood was a football staff member at West Georgia College (the University of West Georgia), Auburn University, Emory & Henry College, Samford University, Eastern New Mexico University, Olivet Nazarene University and Cumberland (KY) College (the University of the Cumberlands).
He coached on the minor league and professional level with the Alabama (Gadsden) Raiders of the Southern Football League and the Birmingham Steeldogs of Af2.
After leaving coaching, in addition to working as a scout, Wood was an on-air broadcaster and recruiting analyst for College Sports Southeast. He would later be named Director of Marketing for the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA).
In 2005, Wood co-founded High School Sports Television Southeast (HSTV-Southeast) and was President/CEO of the company which broadcast high school sporting events throughout 14 states.
From 2012-2015, Wood was Director of Football Operations at Point University in West Point, GA and served as the football chairman for the Sun Conference.
