Purdue student battles cancer and inspires Boilermakers
Everyone was surprised that Purdue put a 49-20 beat-down on then #2 Ohio State; that is everyone except Tyler Trent, a Purdue student battling cancer. Trent made it his mission to be at Ross-Ade Stadium Saturday night to watch his beloved Boilermakers upend the Buckeyes’ season, while moving their own record to 4-3. Several outlets covered Tyler’s story over the weekend beginning with a GameDay story by Tom Rinaldi. Coach Jeff Brohm made sure Tyler was in the locker room to share the victory celebration with the team and referenced him in his post game press conference. Additionally, Forbes’ David Ching had a nice piece on Tyler and the special night in West LaFayette, as did Gregg Doyel of the Indianapolis Star.
All of the GamedaySportsRadio.com staff wishes Tyler Trent the best as he goes forward in his journey. In honor of Tyler, ‘Boiler up.’
